The General Assembly of the Focolare Movement

Elects Dott. Maria Voce as the New President of the Focolare Movement.

After working as the first woman lawyer from her town, Foro di Cosenza, Italy, Maria Voce then dedicated herself to the Focolare Movement, including work for its legal structures and statutes.

Over the years her commitment and her work to promote the Communion and Law project, offering her ideas in light of the spirituality of communion, have been especially precious. Together, we have witnessed the emergence and growth of a network of legal professionals dedicated to working concretely to renew the legal profession.

Voce worked closely with Chiara Lubich, particularly during her last years, helping her in updating the general statutes of the Focolare Movement.

In the spirit of our shared commitment to promote fraternity, the Communion and Law project extends to the newly elected president its best wishes for the responsibility now entrusted to her.
